SP101 hammer pivot assembly question
I bought a new Ruger SP101 DAO model two days ago.
I have fire around 75 rounds through it thus far on the first day I had it. The hammer pivot assembly is friction fitted if I am correct but it will push out some and I think the only thing keeping it in place is the grip. I looked at both my Security Six and my Redhawk and neither of them seem to have any play in the hammer pivot assembly. Is this play normal? Does anyone here understand what I am talking about? Are the new SP101's fit a little looser than the older Rugers? I am sorry for the horrible explanation of the problem but I am lacking pictures to help explain the problem. Thanks in advance for any help! |

Some play is normal. It's a Ruger. Their stuff is heavy duty. S&W is more like precision fitting. Don't sweat it at all.
