Share a photo of your target and tell your story about it!

I like to see photos of targets and here the details around the results. Maybe it is a particularly tight group or maybe it was your best rapid fire, or maybe it is your worst and you get a good laugh from it.

Here are a couple of mine.

First is a nice group shooting the CZ 85B. I bought the CZ 85B after reading Stephen Camp's website. I was researching the Browning Hi-Power that I had recently purchased and found an article about the CZ 75B. I thought that if it is any where close to the BHP I would really like it and I wanted a range gun because the Hi-Power wasn't exactly cheap.

Next is from the Walther PPK/S. This is a Smith and Wesson made version of the classic. I remember shortly after I bought it I was informed of a recall and I was thinking what kind of mess had I got into. Well S&W fixed it up quick and sent it back. I like how flat it is and it doesn't print and so I grab it when I need a pocket gun. The trigger on it is excellent, and for me the sights allow me to be very precise.

I always shoot standing, and usually a two handed grip. All the distances are in yards. One day I will have to brace myself against something and see how accurate I can shoot, but I am interested in what I call practical shooting for every day use.

Please share your photos and tell us about it.

I'm not much of a target shooter. Can't see the target beyond about 30 feet or so.

This was 25 yards with my ivory stocked 44 Special Colt. Let's call it Minute of Rustler.

Hate to admit it but I got a better group with my Italian clone in 45 Colt.

This was at 15 yards with a WW II Victory Model S&W in 38 S&W. Nice group but the bullets were going through the paper sideways. I need to figure out why it's doing that,

At 15 with a 1924 Colt Army Special 38 stamped for the St. Louis PD. Fired DA like you would on the street, let's call this one Minute of Armed Felon.

Only 10 yards but damn, the sights are dead on. I always heard the Super didn't shoot so good. Really?

Minute of Rustler, I like that!

I wonder why the bullets were tumbling for the .38 S&W.

All the groups are excellent, but that last one, the 38 Super, that is what I think we all would like to see from a day at the range.

I like the "ear" shots the best.

This was the very first shot from my Ruger SR1911. It was shot at 25 yards, elbows rested. Two shooters at the range asked me how I liked the SR1911, and I told them I hadn't shot it yet. After that first shot, they stood and watched me shoot 2 more magazines into the target, and the second picture is that result. Im not a big 1911 fan, but I will never let go of this pistol.

I've posted all these at one point, but here they are again. Unless noted otherwise, they're all shot standing, unsupported, double action.

10 yards, DAO S&W 686, standing unsupported (top) and sitting, off a rest (bottom):

Same as above, same day, but with my Ruger MkIII:

7 yards, S&W K-38, standing unsupported, 2 hands (bottom) strong hand only (upper right), and weak hand only (upper left):

25 yards, S&W 617 .22LR, 5 rounds:

Another with my 617, but 10 yards and 10 rounds:

Wish I could, but I don't have it. I took my granddaughter to the range, she got a round thru the EXACT center of the target. She was hooked!

At 15 yards firing a 1942 M&P in SA mode. First five were doing pretty good and then I completely jerked the last round off to the left. The reason this is interesting is I did a barrel swap on this revolver at home despite the assurances from forum experts that I would ruin the frame, the barrel or both not being a trained gunsmith. Turned out it works OK.

Shot this with a c. 1950 Colt Officers Model Target using 158 lead SWCs at 900 FPS. I believe this revolver had been carried as a duty weapon based on the obvious holster and stock wear and given its near perfect calibration with the service load of the 1950s and 1960s I think I'm right. Of course I always think I'm right.

This is not a bad group considering I shot it with a Harrington & Richardson "Sportsman" top break revolver made in 1941. This gun has seen a lot of use and abuse.

My new CZ's, P-01 & P-07.

Took delivery of them last time I was home and ran a lot of rounds through them both in a little less than two weeks. Here are the best results I got from the first two weeks of ownership and live fire.

•All shots were two-hand hold, modified isosceles stance.
•Numbers on target indicate distance.
•Colors indicate following: Red is single action shots, and green indicates double action shots from the half cock position.

All of them are excellent. Keep'em coming. For me, it is a pleasure to see these photos and read the stories.

Accuracy of 2" barrel S&W 38 special- 25 yards

A thread on stub nose accuracy came up. So i went shooting with my 2 guns. . The guns - [IMG][/IMG] The sights on the 337pd are harder to see, so accuracy is not as good. Some short barrel models must meet accuracy standards. This paper came with the 337PD.

Here's a video with a story:

The video: My coin-on-the-barrel drill (the 2nd of 2):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmy5mkjpUNI

The story: I was laid up with a surgically-repaired herniated lumbar disc. Practice at the range was verboten, but I could still dry fire. I was cooped up at home, getting kinda batty, and started to think about the ol' coin-on-the-barrel drill. More specifically, I started to wonder if it'd be possible to balance the coin on its edge, and, if so, maybe even cycle the action without knocking the coin off. I've never seen that done before, and thought it'd be pretty cool to be able to pull it off. It took a bit of practice, but voilá.

A still from the vid:

Now that is some amazing trigger control. I would have to use gum to hold the coin on. Now, can anyone do that with a semi-auto.

Best I have done. Now this was only 100 yards, but I am very happy with it. 6MMBR, 107 Serrias. Very cold that day 38 above. Wind was calm. Was shooting with 3 other that I shoot comp with. We all decided we were going to dial into 100 yards and see what we could do. This is a 5 shot group here

Yes, it's a 686. Dash 6. Aside from the radically-bobbed hammer, mods are pretty straightforward - fiber optic front sight, Millet rear, chamfered charge holes, narrowed, radiused and polished trigger, and a little internal smoothing of the action. The DA pull isn't crazy light - about 7 1/2 lbs - and it shoots anything it's fed. I was using Miculek grips in the vid, but since switched over to Uncle Mikes.

Though it's a rifle target, it's still very pretty. Gotta love the 6mmBR.

Wow, some of you shoot better than any shooter I have ever seen anywhere, at any range, or on any TV gun show. Other than that impossible shots show of course. How do you do it? I would be embarrassed to show my targets here.
