444 marlin and hornady interlock

Anyone use the hornady interlock for 444marlin looking for information on the performance on large game thanks

I have never used them in .444, but I used them this past deer season in .308 and I was not overly impressed. I will go to another bullet for next season. Every deer that I shot with them had evidence of large pieces of bullet going in different direction inside the body cavity even though there was always an exit wound. This appears to me, to suggest that the bullets does not stay together that well and I do not like that. In all of my years of hunting, I have not seen this happen with every bullet as it happened with these. At any rate, I will go to another bullet.YMMV

FWIW, here's a post from the Marlin Owner's Forum with the test results on water jugs for the Hornady 265gr FP.

444 Marlin Bullet Test - Heavyweight Championship

For the most part it seemed to be a penetration test, so it's no surprise this bullet placed 5th and the cast bullets did better. 92% weight retention and expansion to 0.8" sounds pretty good to me...
