SR4756 and 230 gr. LRN in .45 ACP
Any one ever try this combo?
I bought a box lot of reloading materials at an auction last weekend. The box had two 1/2# cans of SR 4756 and 100 230 gr LRN bullets in it. I am thinking I will use the bullets up with the SR4756 in my .45 ACP? SR4756 is listed in several manuals as a .45 ACP load, so I am just curios if anyone else has had any luck with it! Thanks in advance for the replies!

SR4756 works just fine in the 45. Start low and work up. I load it in the 40 S&W and 10mm too. I've burned several 12# kegs of it. The newer data has been lawyerproofed though, get some of the older IMR or DuPont guides.

I checked the 2008 Hodgdon booklet and it shows 7.5 grains max with a Remington 230 gr FMJ at 17600 cup. this is almost +P so 7.0 grains would be about right. Velocity listed is 960 fps. with the jacketed bullet, so the lead with the 7 grain charge should be about the same. That's stepping out for a hardball load!
