Searching for an Optic, and Being Really Picky About It

Several months ago I gave in and purchased a PTR 91 and I have been using iron sights until now. After alot of thought, I decided that I want to get a decent scope for it but I'm have trouble finding one with my preferred set of features at the right price. I would like something in the 3-9X40 range (though I'm a bit flexible on the specifics) with an illuminated mil-dot. I have consulted the guys on post, but what they typically use that meets these standards is in the $1,000+ range. Are there any quality optics out there that has these elements but at a lower price? Thanks alot guys.
