Need data

Just picked up my spanking new Smith 460 XVR. Could someone please direct me to some load data for the 460? Also, can I use my 460 dies for 454 and 45LC? Thanks for any info!

Hey Big,
I think the dies are just longer than those other two calibers so you would have a lot a ajustments going back and forth.
Try this site:
http://www.hodgdon.com/data/pistol/460swmag.php

Happy shooting

thanks Scott. More options for the 460 than I thought. I'll be loading mostly 45LC, but would like to try some slow and heavy lead for the other two calibers. Just wasn't sure the seater plug for the 460 would adjust down for the other two. Or if the crimp will be out of reach. The factory Hornady 200 grainers for the 460 are pretty awsome. Howitzer type muzzle blast. Thanks again.

I just noticed imrpowder.com has Trailboss loads for the 460mag that should be pure pleasure shooting. With an extremely high pressure round like the 460 thats what I would use rather than 45colt or those weak little 454 casulls. A slight ring in the chamber could alter pressure at an already eerie level. Good luck

The 454 cases don't even come close to working in the 460 dies, with the exception of the resize/decap die. The 454 case is about a foot too short (yeah, I don't know why I thought it might work, duh.) Guess I'll be picking up another set of dies. But on the bright side, the person who dies with the most dies wins, right? Thanks again guys.
