In anticipation of my upper assembly and lower parts kit, I am looking for a new home for my new AR. I currenly have a small coupe and my SKB 4 gun case dosen't fit.

I have no problem separating the upper and lower to fit it into the case. In addition to the 16" flattop, I plan on getting a 24" or 26" bull barrel flat top and a 16" dedicated 22LR flattop. I will naturally want to keep all these goodies in the same case. I'm leaning toward a breakdown shotgun case for 2 'guns.

I'm also looking for something that is airline approved. I think I would also like to use a padlock instead of those "generic" locks found on most cases. Plastic cases only please! My car interior will not appreciate sharp metal edges and diamond plate.

Here's the brands I've found so far...
SKB
Browning
Pelican (who sells these things?)
Starlight

Thanks for everyones help and opinions.

Jason

You can drive over a Pelican with a car and not hurt it. Try a SCUBA shop.

Pelican or SKB if you need plastic. One of them makes the Browning cases, or used to. Jensen Tool used to carry the Pelicans and Champion's Choice carries one or two of the SKB cases. Try a search on dogpile.com or google.com and you will find something I'm sure.

Thanks to everyone.

I am thinking of getting the Pelican 1650 but I want to make sure a 24" upper receiver assembly will fit. Does any body have the OAL of a 24" assembly? The longest interior dimension of the Pelican 1650 is 29".

If it dosen't fit, I may decide to stick with the SKB line.

I ordered a Pelican 1700 from them about 30 minutes I got the e-mail about the sale. I hope this isn't one of their "put it on sale but we don't have any in stock" sale.
