Refinshing a shotgun will cost you easily $ 500 - and I doubt its worth it to you. You might consider doing it yourself. I doubt Mossberg will do it - and if they do, it won't be cheap.

I think $500 might be just a little high, Jim. You're right, it can be expensive, but the OP should be able to get his Mossberg refinished for less than that. Of course, he may still spend more on the refinish that he did on the purchase.
OP, if you want to do this, go ahead and check with Mossberg. If you don't like their response, check the following shops for electroless nickel/hard chrome plating...that's what you're looking for. All the below are top quality and as good as Marinecoat, or better. They'll make your shotgun look new. Robar's NP3 is fantastic stuff. http://www.robarguns.com/np3.htm Or Metalife is a good hard chrome process: http://www.mahovskysmetalife.com/ Metaloy is also great (they used to be associated with Wilson Combat, may still be) http://www.originalmetaloy.com/pricing.html Last edited by TxGun; January 31, 2009 at 07:57 PM. |

If those prices are still too high, you can try to DIY with a can of Brownells Alumahyde II. You'll still need to get the parts aluminum-oxide blasted somewhere.
