My second post on my new Ruger SRH in .44 mag w/ 9.5" barrel. I need some advice on a scope. I am looking at either a 2X or a 4X, both Leupold's. My hunting will be primarily for whitetails, ranging from 50-75 yds, possibly up to 100 yds, but no more. This is a SS revolver, so I also need advice on aesthetics - should I go with black gloss, black matte, or silver?
Thanks |

Heck, you spent good money on the revolver. You're spending good money on the scope. Just go with the silver Leupold 2x and you're be asthetically correct

2X is a good choice. color is whatever suits you. I sometimes like the mixed stainless and matte black look even if it's just black mounts. just me. I would avoid 4X. I've got a 2X on my .44 10" contender and it's great to 100 yrds. The only handgun I have with more than 2X is my "gopher gun", a Browning buckmark silhouette with a 4X Leuopold.
