No better rifle has ever fell into my hands than the model 70. I almost cried when they announced the plant closure. but I sure do like the new ones they came out with. excellent guns, a little stiff on the pricetags though.

No .338 win mag = fail.... No .375 H&H =fail....
Having nothing bigger or hotter than .300 win mag and .325 WSM = epic fail........ Please Winchester build one in .338...... I will buy it!!! |

I read on the nitro express forum that 375 H&H model 70's may be going back into production. I don't know if this rumor is true, but it seems like a no brainer for Winchester. I would probably buy another one if they did.

"Classic stainlesses"
How can a stainless anything be classic? I know, it's just marketing, so I'm happy for all of you. JT |

I believe that the "Classic" in classic stainless refers to the pre-64 style extractor claw.
I have hunted with a classic stainless 375 H&H in Alaska for over 10 years. I really couldn't ask for a more durable and functional rifle. If I had to sell every other rifle I own, this is the one I would keep. |
