Where can I buy real black powder...

I have used only Pyrodex the entire time I have been shooting muzzleloaders. I want to try real black powder. Cabelas doesn't sell it and track of the wolf only sells it 25 cans at a time. Where can I get some and what should I start off with?

Prices were as of Feb 19, 2009.

Prices include shipping and hazmat fees; they are delivered prices from the shipper's location to Michigan. Shipping fees may vary slightly to other states.

The best "play" if you want a combination of: good fair price, USA made, reliable/good/consistent reputation is to buy Goex BP from Jack's Powder Keg.

Jack's Powder Keg

There are a few other powders you can get a little cheaper than the above but you generally get more of a "mixed" review on them.

I bought 5lbs. of Graf & Sons 3f powder for about $85 recently. I am very pleased with the performance of the powder and their service.

Thanks for the replies, I will give Jack's a call and see if I can talk him into sending me just a couple of cans to start with.

Jack's ships 25 lbs at a time because Goex pre-packs boxes that hold exactly 25 cans. All Jack's has to do is slap a shipping sticker on the outside of the box.

clarksville rod and gun in the same town as powder inc -good service but have to buy at least 25 pounds. grafs sells in minimum lots of 4 pounds and is very good to deal with.
I have enough right now to blow myself off the map.
