Ah ha! I knew it was there. Not FL but right here in good ol' CO.
The story has fallen off the archive but it is still archived on the L&P pages. SOURCE (CO) Boys punished for shooting imaginary aliens with their fingers

I can see it now:
First day of school: teacher asks "OK, class, everyone stand up and tell us your name". Little Hunter stands up and signs "I can't tell you. It's too scary." and sits down. God save us from political correctness.

Or signs, "My name is Trinity," followed by the sign for his name flashed so fast the teacher can't see it.

Wow, I know this is old. But this is the first I've heard of this, I just graduated this year, [From a vocational school in Chadron, Ne] But not too long ago I was a student of the Grand Island, Nebraska school system and yes, they're completely out of hand. When I was in fifth grade, Knewell Elementary school here in GI,NE, I liked to write short stories, still do, but I had written a story about a fictional super store (similar to a walmart) in a fictional city that had become overtook by a group of armed men, forcing a swat team in, etc etc. The teacher got ahold of it while I was at recess one thursday, guess where I spent the next six and a half hours with my mother? In the GIPD main offices being questioned by an officer.
