Weatherby Vanguard Detachable Magazine
I'm in the market for a detachable magazine for my Vanguard (chambered in 243 Win.), and the only place I have found one was on Weatherby's website. Only problem is, they only have it available for .25-06 Rem., .270 Win. and .30-06 Springfield. Anybody know where I could find one online? Thanks in advance.

CDI makes detachable bottom metal for the Howa 1500, which- far as I know- is the action used in the Weatherby Vanguard.
Problem is you need AICS mags (or a clone ) and I don't believe they're made in that caliber. I looked at Weatherby's site- what's the point of a 3-round detachable box magazine? Are they nutz? |

Somebody suggested that I get a magazine for a Howa 1500 here: http://www.gunforall.com/showdetails.asp?prod=176350 and to get it in 308, because 243 was derived from a 308. Do you think this would work?

It will work with the cartridge but I am not sure if the Howa will fit the Weatherby. Go to Weatherby nation and ask on that forum.

Ok, I went to the Weatherby Forum and someone from there called Legacy Sports (Howas importer), and they said that their magazine fits and SA Vanguard. So a 10 round mag for my Vanguard will cost about 98 bucks, and extra mags cost 52. Thanks for your help guys.
