Video - Shooting the 1860 Henry Rifle
This is part 1 of my series on early lever action rifles. Part 2 will be on Spencer rifles.
The Henry was the first successful, cartridge firing repeating rifle. It was used prominently in some of the battles of Red Cloud's war in 1866 and 1867 on the Bozeman Trail. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ln4WeTHE5m8 |

Mike,
Beautiful rifle. I watch Danny Glover in Silverado over and over because of this rifle. Next to the 1866 and 1872, this is one of my favorites. Thanks for the video. Hong

Yes, thank you Mike. I appreciate it. I just wish I could afford one. Thanks for making me aware of my extreme lack of fun funds Kevin

Great video, Mike! I'm really looking forward to the Spencer rifle video. During the Civil War, two companies of infantry served in my great, great grandfather's regiment, the 27th Michigan (Vosper's and Perrin's Sharpshooters). I've heard that the boys were so impressed with those rifles that they took up a vote and decided that they all wanted to be equipped with them and have the whole regiment be designated as "sharpshooters".
The War Department said no.
