38 special
what are some good .38 special powders or combinations. Right now i have Unique, PowerPistol, Titegroup and HS-7. I am using 158gr plated swc. i alo made a batch with 125gr Winchester LSJ HP.

I have always liked Bullseye in my 38Special loads and Unique 2nd.....hpg

Bullseye for the past 7 years for me.
With a 125gr XTP HP or 125gr SWC. But I must say I run these in a Detective Special. |

3.4 Bullseye with 158 gr copper plated lead. Unique does not meter well in my measure. willr

3.5grs of Bullseye and a 158gr cast bullet has worked real well for me. HTH

my favorite .38 spl loads are 3.0 -3.2 grs of bullseye under a homecast 150 gr. lswc in a .38 spl case........... my model 27 likes to put em into small groups at 50 yards!!

I like bullseye the best.
Unique is a close second. Unique is dirty at low pressures. Power pistol needs a long barrel to be consistant. Most .38s are snubbies.

I've burned several pounds of Bullseye 3.5gr at a time with 158gr bullets of various types. After I finish my current bottle of BE, I'll probably start using Unique, but mainly because I have a bottle that isn't getting used otherwise.
