best target ammo?

Okay here is a question that may have been asked a 1000 times so sorry if it has but I am wondering if dirty ammo can effect or harm your gun in anyway? I always clean my guns after shooting but worry about dirty ammo. Any insight is welcomed.

Shoot. clean shoot again. You have no idea how many dirty, grease, oily dirt covered rounds of 22 and 38 spcl I have recovered from grab bags of ammo I have shot. Wipe off excess gunk and junk with finger or rag and load them up.
