Old powder as fertilizer
I've seen several references to using powder as fertilizer. This seems a good way to handle hazardous materials and I do have several pounds to destroy. However, too much fertilizer can be a bad thing. Anyone know how to distribute it?

Go outside with the powder and toss handfuls lightly in the air over and around the plants you wish to fertilize.
The distribution will be light enough to eliminate any nitrogen overload. Too much Nitrogen simply stimulates leafy growth and not helpful if you have fruiting or flowering plants but no way it will harm the plants short of burying the plants in powder. Much easier to do harm with 10-10-10 from the garden center than with some left over powder |

I would say treat it like a 30-0-0 type

I've done the same. Just put out the cigar before doing it.

Dogjaw,
Thanks for the chuckle; I needed that. Home study of Solaris can be stupefying. Coffee isn't even helping. I gave up smoking a long time ago for less interesting reasons than avoiding a garden flash fire.
