Funny Looking Flintlock Pistol

32 cal with false muzzle, funny looking, but it shoots

I have a back action in line 45 cap lock that was built around 1974 by a smith in Ohio, I think, looks a lot like your flint. It also has a false muzzle, if I could hold it still it would shoot. Very nice target by the way, and with a flint. Looks like a 98 2X scores like that should place most every time.

Hello Clint, The pistol was made by Lewis. He is located in Ohio. The wife used it last Sept. to win the Flint Agg. at the Nationals. One of her scores
was a 89 at 50 yds. She has won the women's pistol at Friendship five times.
Her best with a cap gun is 100 and 7 X at 25 yds. All of our guns are .32
except the revolver. It is a 9mm. Phil

I take it the lock was mounted backwards so as to shorten the pistol and to bring the touch hole closer to the rear. Why a southpaw lock on a right handed gun?

Prolly easier to cock with the left hand after you have it loaded and settled in the right.

Actually the lock is a RIGHT hand lock. It is just mounted on the left side of
the gun. We are all right handed. The purpose of mounting it on the left side
vs. the right side is that when you fire it, the end of the flint comes down
right on the web of your hand and you get NO bobble that way. When the lock is on the right side it is way out in front of your trigger finger, and you
will get a bobble and that is not too good for National Matches target shooting. The barrel on this gun is 10 1/2 inches. The balance of the gun is
right where the trigger is. Have you all checked the cap gun in "Pasel of Pistols" Phil
