Fine leather goods.

I have been ordering knife sheaths and rifle slings from a company in Moody, Texas for the past few months and wanted to pass along the name of these wonderful folks. The company is J.W. Smith and Sons Custom Tooled Leather. They also make custom knives that look great but my experience has been with their leather.
This is a Mom and Pop, American made, leather shop. The leather work is mostly done by her and the knife work by him. All tooling and sewing is done by hand, and I can tell you it is nice nice work. The prices are very reasonable too for this kind of quality.
Did I mention they also make holsters and all kinds of neat leather goods. Very easy and pleasant to work with for your needs too.
Do yourself a favor and at least check them out. jwsmithandsons.com

Does anybody else think that this smells like another spammer?

Not necessarily. Sounds like a personal testimonial from someone who has used the products.

I agree that it could be a testimonial but with one post, I'm going with "camo spam", ie spam that is disguised as a honest post.

It does look like Smith and Sons do nice work however.

not a spammer

No, I am not a spammer, just trying to give everyone a heads-up about a good leather company I have used.

I have a suggestion: let's default to polite.

All you need to do is wait. A spammer will give it up soon enough.

You can also bring up a members' posts and see if they are participating in discussions, which is why we are here, spamming across the forums.

Welcome to TFL, tailchain.

Our experience here is not good with first post testimonials. That said, join in.

Thank you Bud.

I appreciate the welcome Bud. I am not sure why others thought I was spamming about the leather goods. I have found it difficult to find suppliers easy to work with about special orders and thought these people were extra good. Nuff said on that subject I reckon.

Forums attract alternative advertisers. Usually a business recommendation (whether it's gun related or viagra) on the first post is the MO. Then there are the complainers..."Joe Bob in Muscaloo, Alabama stole $700 from me and I never did get my rifle. BEWARE of Joe Bob!"

Welcome to TFL. It always good to have more options as a consumer. We just prefer to have full disclosure if you are the distributor. Pour a draft and grab a chair! It's a pleasure to meet 'cha.

7xleather in Montana is also worth checking out. his prices are a little cheaper than others but he definitely makes quality leather goods. I had a couple of custom rifle slings made by him and they were superb
