I was wondering if that was new....or if I had just missed it for 2 years.

Actually, it was just started yesterday. You may not like it. But the majority of Staff does. Hopefully it will keep 3 year old threads being bumped up from first time posters.

Well worth it...

This is one of the better ideas on this forum. All should have it. Okay, this is July. How many times have you clicked on a thread that has July dates and then realized those dates are July 2001? Someone has dredged it up and responded to a post which is 9 years old.

I would also prefer that threads get automatically locked at 90 days,or at 6 pages.
* * * *

Edit—Changed my mind addendum:

Just for grins I looked at some threads with many pages and noted that some had been well covered by the responses on the first page, many by the second, almost all by the third, and after that it was usually a repeat of what had already been said.

I looked at some which were resurrected and noted that seldom was anything useful added when the thread had been inactive more than 30 days.
