My New Sig P220

Went to the local gun store today and picked-up my brand new P220. Got an almost too good to believe deal on it. Trust me, it is still possible to get a great deal on a NIB quality pistol. It came with three 8 round magazines.

First picture is of the new pistol by itself. Second picture is of my new one and my older P220 ST. The new one is significantly lighter in weight than the older one. Another nice thing is the two will share the same magazines.

I would ask you why anyone in their right mind would buy another P220

Then I realized, I did the same thing!!! Good catch and a great gun.

Congrats on the new gun, my last "new" Sig was a refurb 220 match gun I just love the smooth way a Sig operates.

Great purchase. I really like the 220. I just shot a USP 45 and I prefer the Sig. The only thing I've ever seen one need is an RSA after thousands of rounds.

Well, I finally . . . . went out back and put a hundred rounds of my reloads through the pistol today.

There was not a single failure. Every shot ended up in an 8" paper plate at 25 yards. Folks, this is a plus since my eyesight is the lower margin of the capabiliy tablet here.

The other good thing is almost every expended piece of brass was in a neat pile so to speak since brass does bounce with it hits.

I am happier than a pig in slop since I paid less than $575.00 NIB for this great pistol. There are deals to be had.

I have owned almost every brand of pistol out there; and in the end, Sigs are my favorite. Outside of my XD .45, all of my pistols are Sigs; they are top notch.
I really like both of yours, but I truly like the ST; very nice.

Here is a quick pick of my favorite 220...

It's stock. The older W German Sigs had these thinner, spur hammers. Then later they started using the fatter hammers; like this.

cbennettx, is that a new slide on an older frame? Your slide is from Exeter, NH, correct? Or did the Exeter factory also produce some guns with the spur hammer?

No, all three serial numbers match. With Sig; where they were stamped or imported didn't always match up with the German import marks when they were made. Guess sometimes they sat around before being shipped to US or something; who knows.

My appology to the Forum. I got warned for by-passing the filters. I guess I should of said I got off my butt or the biblical form of such.

Anyway, no big deal since the message was sent as a pleasant thought vs. anything with a negative intent. My butt does need moving and persuading by the Moderators at times. I don't envy their job.

Cbe, Beautiful pistol, Thanks for sharing.

I am thinking of buying Nill grips for my new one to match the ones on my P220 SS. They will add nothing more than appearance and personal enjoyment.

The Nills are nice. I had some but sold them with another 220 I had. I like the Nills with "Sig Sauer" on them; but they are hard to find.

Agree, I have a 20% discount with Sig for registering my new pisol for the warranty. They have the NILL's, but they are on back order. I will see if they take the discount with the back order status.

Wish me luck. They are not with the Sig Sauer embossment. Same as the one's on my P220 SS in the earlier picture.

It will be an even bigger score to get the new pistol and the NILL grips for well under $675.00.

Can't tell if you have an internal or external extractor ST. If it is internal and you do have some problems, you've finally got some options:

1. Sig will fit a new slide with external extractor and night sights
2. Custom shop Grayguns now has a new internal extractor design that supposedly resolves the issues.

Love my ST, especially now that it's running again.

Called Sig this morning. They no longer have the NILL grips for the P220. They stated they would have to get their web master to correct the web site error about taking back-orders.

Does anyone else have any sources for these grips?

That's why I said they were hard to find. I would join Sig Forum. I spend most of my time there, and it's a great source of info. Actually last week someone sold a set of Sig logo Nills for a 228; but I missed buying them.

You can always post a "WTB" ad, may get lucky.
