I purchased the 1012 two weeks ago and have had it out to the skeet & trap range twice and the dove field once. It performed well so far. I would not compare it to a Benneli, though. Only paid 550.00 for it in black synthetic. The main reason I bough it was experience with the old S&W 1000 made back in the 80's. That gun was one of the best I had ever shot at the time. Only problem with it was a low rib that did not dissapate heat well at the skeet range. It did just fine in the field. The new one is a bit heavier but I like how it points and I am hoping I will enjoy it as much as the older 1000 I used to have.
