Another Marlin Model 60 Serial Number Question
This Marlin Model 60 serial number is 99182XXX. The Roll Mark reads:
THE MARLIN FIREARMS CO. NORTH HAVEN, CT, U.S.A. MODEL 60 MICRO-GROVE BARREL CAL 22 L.R. ONLY None of the suggested serial dating procedures seem to fit this rifle, or I do not understand them. There are no other letter pairs identifiable on the barrel which is in good condition. the only other roll mark on the barrel is a warning regarding misuse. |

I believe that would make it a 2001 model.

Subtracting the 1st 2 digits of the SN from 100 gives the date of manufacture on MOST Marlins made since the early 1970's. 1972 I think is when they changed. So 100-99=01 Or 2001.
There are some models with limited production that don't fit, but most that I've seen do. |
