For the AR-15: .30 Gibbs Short?
Hi All,
I've got a crazy idea cookin', mostly from my surplus of .30-06 brass and my .30 Gibbs Reamer laying around. If I cut a .30 Gibbs chamber to a brass depth of 1.750", is there any reason I couldn't: 1. Use either .30-06 brass or .308/7.62x51 brass as the parent? 2. Feed the cartridge from a standard AR-15 magazine? 3. Duplicate performance of .300 Whisper? I know there's bolt work involved--perhaps too much. I've just been thinkin'. Thanks, jkpq45 |
