A couple of fellows had some slick-looking Caspian .45s at a Bullseye match today. I looked up the Caspian arms site on the internet but did not see where they are made. Does anyone know and also are these very expensive guns?

Here is Caspian web site http://www.caspianarmsltd.8m.com/
Caspian does not make complete guns they only make parts like frames, slides and some other parts. There frame and slides are top of the line. they are Hardwick Vermont

My terribly expensive 1911 is based on a Caspian frame and slide.
No complete guns; just best-quality gunsmith-fit parts.

(If you want an inexpensive 1911 buy a Kimber Classic.)

Hey Keiller--i''ve got a Caspian Frame on my single stack racegun that i used for IPSC and now use for NRA Action pistol...Works for me--A few years back i sat down with a caspian catalog and a Denny's catalog and was going to get all the best goodies together and build me a limited 45...But after compiling all the parts prices and figuring i would have to pay a great Smithy probably 500 or so dollars to put it all together---i just bought a Les Baer and i swear i think i saved money. Regarding Kimbers--They are good guns and i think they are a lot of gun for the money--but they are not a custom gun--a buddy got one of the match versions the other day and i could take the barrel bushing out without a bushing wrench--maybe i'm wrong but that dissappointed me....Dick

I know several people who have owned Caspian frames and loved htem. I livedin Vermont for a few years and they had an obvious popularity there. The only one I currently own is one of the Clark Custom Meltdowns and it is an exquisite gun.
