Sarco 1911 kit

I'm thinking about building a low-cost 1911 with the Sarco kit (everything but the receiver). Has anyone here ever used those parts or that kit? The price would indicate I shouldn't expect much, and I don't -- but I do expect the parts to function together (loosely maybe) and be safe. Any experience in this group?
