Why do gun owners have so many boat accidents?

I am continually amazed
by the number of people on these boards who don't get the point.
To that point, all my guns were destroyed in a house fire. My house is fine. It was actually more like a closet fire in my house. Luckily, I was able to contain the fire just to the closet. I'd post a picture of the damage, but my camera was in the closet on top of the gun case.

Mine was a canoeing accident. I had loaded my semi-autos in the canoe to go across to a deserted island so that I could enjoy them without evil gun-banners peering over my shoulder, salivating at the toys they'd soon ban.
Alas, canoes are tippy boats and when hit by a rogue wave, the canoe turned turtle, dumping my small but high-capacity collection overboard into shark-filled waters. I managed to escape with only my Zippo lighter and a half-box of Cuban cigars that I held over my head as I side-stroked to shore. When approached by a local life-guard, who loomed over me in her bikini, I learned that Cuban cigars are also banned, and we decided to burn the evidence onshore while watching the sun set over the placid, yet shark-filled waters. My erstwhile savior admitted as the sun set that she always had an affinity for Cuban cigars and semi-automatic firearms. She produced a bottle of Cognac from her rescue bag and we sipped from the bottle as we lamented the loss of the firearms. I'll draw the curtain on this little tragedy before I regale you with the story of her removing her bikini top. This is a family-friendly forum. Almost. |

PawPaw,
That is such a fantastic story that it must be true! I would also like to thank 1Hobie for posting the links, especially the last one with the video. We should all be spreading those like wild fire. |

At least some of those many guns lost in the lake, or which burned up were insured. People always insure treasured objects.
Show us the new replacements! Anybody with over 2,400 posts has probably acquired another, or never lost them. Kinda obvious, even to those secret agencies swarming with swarthy Bell Textron, or Aerospatiale helicopters. If I knew how to post photos, you would see the SKS with Tech Sight, an Enfield or two, maybe the Garand. Life is too short to worry so much. Well, many of you might have seen my Windham AR and S&W 1911 in the photo contest. I am sad to report that on my voyage across the Indian Ocean, the ship capsized after pirates attacked it. Little known fact, the countries around that ocean disallow standard 30-round magazines. So naturally I only brought my ten rounders.
Unfortunately, I didn't have the means to effectively defend myself and the 200+ passengers onboard, and they used the banned but still easily available RPGs to sink the ship. 100% survival rate, luckily. But, unfortunately, all of my firearms were lost. |

My dogs ate mine, glad they're not pointers but I still duck when they head to the far corner of the back yard.

"High capacity semiautomatic labradors"
I'm pretty sure these are specifically listed in Feinstein's proposed bill. |

Yep, nothing to worry about at all.... If you don't think the government is scrutinizing everything every asset of our lives, go ahead and make it easier on them. You use a credit card to buy ammo/guns, a paper trail is created. Shop on-line same o same o. Heck, even using Google like I did created a "signature" if someone's looking. Even the oh so clever "I lost them a boating accident" is just twisting the tigers tail. You'd be the first place they'll look as obviously you have something to hide. Hobie |

I suggest we turn this thread into a "creative stories of how I lost my guns" competition so we can have some fun before it either gets closed or turns into an all-out conspiracy war.

In closing, I've not nor have said one thing about any conspiracies. I provided multiple sources that state facts, not conjecture, and all I want is for people that operate in this environment to take care of themselves and their loved ones.
Respectfully, Hobie |
