Sig Trailside misfires?
I have aTrailside that I bought new and it has about 1500 rounds thru it. It has gradually started to misfire more and more. I have used several different kinds of ammo that all shoot fine in my Ruger Mk III. I have cleaned it very well including the bore and breachface to make sure there is no build up stopping the bullets from seating properly. Anyone have any ideas of possible causes. Any help would be appreciated.

couple of ideas
Have you cleaned out the hole where the firing pin lives? If not, you could have either grit and dirt or even a sliver of brass in it. If it does, the cure is to chamfer the firing pin hole with a knife edge.
You might also check and make sure the mainspring isn't tired on it, but it should be ok. |

With that many rounds through it, there will be dirt and grime that will accumalate in the hole. If you don't have any brass in it, I wouldn't chamfer the firing pin hole unless you want to just make it a little better performer. The chamfer will prevent the case head from being shaved off when it slides up the breech face and then lodging in the firing pin hole.

I've seen doubles, even triples, but a quadruple post is quite impressive. Dang computers!

Lol
And it only took one button push to get them all. For some reason, this site was hung up and just wouldn't quit adding them up. Normally it will just do a double, but I hit the jackpot tonight with it for sure.
