Turn off your cellphone before going to a gun store. If you don't, the gubment will record your GPS and network location as being a gun owner.

(And if the place is really hoppin')

Oh I always do. Gunshows too.

I heard this one yesterday. Guy looking at some pmc .223 fmj says to clerk, " do you have anything that's not full metal jacket? I need some hollow points, cuz I'm just going plinking."

I overheard an employee at my LGS tell another employee, "I would never own a Glock unless it was a .45. All the other ones are worthless." This happened while I was in the process of handing money over the counter for a brand new G19 9mm!

I was at a big box store in January standing at the gun counter and a guy behind me asks the guy at the counter if they had any ARs. The guy working there said they didn't but it would be stupid to buy one anyway because the UN forces are going to be here within two weeks to take all our guns. When they find out we aren't giving them up without a fight, they'll drop their guns and run and we can just pick them up and keep them for free. I kind of chuckled because I thought he was joking about people exaggerating the new gun control laws that were in the news at the time. He got very upset with me, told me he was dead serious, and told me I had to leave.

I think that kind of line from a clerk would, at least for me, earn a letter - "Dear Mr Big Box CEO...Are you aware of what kind of stuff your employee is saying?" That kind of nonsense is just plain bad for business, bad for the gun hobby and surely not something any business advocates or tolerates. Particularly the "kicked me out for thinking he wasn't serious" part.

I had a chat with the store manager and got an apology, the guy was sent home for the day, and they gave me a $20 gift certificate. I was actually going to let it go and just not go back and maybe write an email, since it's 180 miles from me anyway but another customer overheard and complained and the manager caught me and my wife on the way out.

I had someone ask me what size bullet he needed to load the clips of his Glock 40. I thought he meant weight so I said 165-180 grain should work fine. He then pointed at some 115gr 9mm and asked if these would work. Apparently he didn't understand that his Glock foe-t meant it shot .40 caliber ammunition. I then backed off the conversation and let the newly arrived sales rep handle things.

Wow....just wow!

Heard at The Evil Pawn Shop,,,

Heard at The Evil Pawn Shop,,,
Just this lunch hour.

I was looking at a used Cricket 22 rifle,,,
I asked The Evil Pawn Shop Guy how much he wanted for it.

"Aarond, c'mon now,,, Don't you already have enough guns?"

I couldn't believe my ears,,,
I went and gave his water bottle a good sniff.

Aarond

"Enough guns?"

Enough guns is just a beginning to a wonderful relationship.

Aarond needs lots of guns, as he is in Oklahoma.

If he owns lots of them, then he can walk the fields and find a few of his after the next tornado attack

Seriously, those poor people got clobbered and I'm sure some shooters lost some nice guns. Or ended up with a much rougher finish on them after the gun safe stopped tumbling.

Hello Bart,,,

You got that right my friend.

In the May 3rd, 1999 tornado swarn that hit Moore,,,
My Sister took that F-5 tornado head on,,,
Her house was completely gone,,,
Not destroyed, but gone.

My Brother-in law's 600 pound gun safe was found over 1/4 mile away,,,
He was able to salvage all but one shotgun from the bunch,,,
But all of the wood was severely damaged,,,
With lots of dings to the metal.

He had some very nice traditional hunting rifles,,,
It was absolutely heartbreaking.

My sister's Model 36 that was in her dresser was never seen again,,,
Also my brother-in-law's Ford F-150 was never found,,,
It had a WW-II vintage 1911 in the tool box.

Aarond

There was one sporting goods store in Moore,,,

There was one sporting goods store in Moore,,,
Whose owner said to bring in any "found" firearms.

He would strip and clean them as best he could,,,
It's my understanding that they were turned over to the Moore PD
And he also established a website where you could search for the weapons he saved.

Tornados are such messy things.

Found in youtube; a private security employee was complaining that the company only give him an airgun instead a firearm. But he was OK because he can "shoot any intruder in the eye".

Sadly, there is lot of people with that mentality.

Legally, perhaps -- ethically, not so much, IMO. How do you feel about the idea that someone might do that with your gun?

As to identifying a found gun as yours, that's what photos and records of serial numbers are for... and you should always have those, in case a gun is stolen or lost in some other way.

This wasn't said at a GS.....but

My brother recently took a ccw class and the instructor (ex leo) preached to the class that the only ccw worth carrying was one made by Glock.
