I owned a Colt National Match with a 4-star aluminum comp., I bought it thru mail order and had my gun smith install it.
It did add lenth to my barrel, but I noticed very little balance changes, so it was a good improvement. My .45 now shot with the recoil of a light load small round. Then I saw how you could send your gun off to get the comp milled right into your guns frame. and the cost was much higher, is this type of comp. worth the money? and what kind of impact does the cut do to the frame's design?
