blank rounds

I want to start making my own blanks. I have a RCBS turret press set-up and have been reloading handgun ammo for a while now. Specifically, I want to make short .308 blanks to fire in a blank-adapted M1919a4 LMG with a feedway adapter that fits over the front cartridge stop. OAL needs to be about 1.979 for each round to properly feed through the gun. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Can I reuse the brass or must I always start with new brass?
What special die set(s) do I need?

Thanks very much for any help.

Throw the question out on the 1919A4 forums. Probably someone has done them there. BTW there are threads for really cheap 308 blanks on that forum as well.
