Tactical Bolt Match-Jan 16th at WEGC

Just an FYI, I will be hosting the Tactical Bolt Match at West End Gun Club here in California on January 16th starting at 0830. It is designed for Bolt Action Shooters, usually Tactical Rifles, however Hunting rifles are welcome too. This is a good match for the Tactical .308 rifles out there.

Basically there are 4 stages with no more than 40 rounds total. We engage from 25-325 yards. We use steel, paper, and reactive targets for score.
Cost is $30.00 per entry and top 3 winners get plaques. All proceeds go to the club.

You should be already zeroed, however for the next 2 matches, we will allow sighters in preperation for the Silver Cup Tactical Bolt Action Match on April 30th of this year in Las Vegas.

If you have any questions you can contact me at the linked website below.

See you around...Spaniard...

Darn! I'm teaching some kids NRA Basic Rifle that day.

Hope the range is open! We've been hammered by the floods the last couple of months.

Washed out?

Yeah,
Not sure if we will have the match, I heard that the river has the pass washed out. What's the junior shoot all about? .22LR stuff perhaps.

I've been helping teach a group called Young Marines every month or so with TJ Johnston in Orange. Good group, kind of an outreach to urban kidsin the Inland Empire, mostly, run by Marine retirees and reserves.

We give them (and some of their families) the NRA Basic Rifle on .22's and get them properly started out on safety, gun handling, rifle shooting. The kids range from age 10 to 17-18;

Great fun and spiritually very rewarding; no money, though

Actually, it's good practice for me, especially working with TJ. I have all my NRA Instructor Certs but haven't done a 'solo' class yet; still arranging venues and budgets.
