Nu finish wax in tumbler

You always only hear of putting alittle nufinish wax in with media well wouldnt another brand do the same? what about Mothers wax? Its what I have, just wanting to know why always nufinish.

For one thing Nu Finish does not have any ammonia in it. I don’t know if Mother’s does or not, but if it does you don’t want to use it on your brass.

I use Mothers liquid wax in my tumbler. Actually called the company and asked if it had any ammonia and what I was useing it for; and they told me it DID NOT contain ammonia.

The reason to use Nu Finish is that it does a good job and is inexpensive. You can use other stuff like Mother's, but you're spending more money to do the same thing the Nu Finish does. The purpose of buying the Nu Finish originally was because it's cheap, does the same job, only a bit better, than the "brass polish" bottles from the various reloading companies.

Got a bottle of cherry smelling wax from a local detailer and it works great. Nu Finish doea a good job too.

Ok thanks. Since i already have mothers liquid that's what i will use then, but i have always only read about nu finish and always wondered why. Again, thanks

I've never used anything but Mothers Cleaner/Wax , a capfull every 4 or 5 uses .

Nu-finish is also a cleaner-wax, it has some mild abrasives and chemical cleaners in it as well as the protective "wax". You won't get the same results from a straight car wax.

Since "meguir's" liquid polish / wax comes in 3 formulas--#1, #2, #3---my logical thinking process says that #1 would be the correct choice for my vibrating tumbler.

However, since i have no meguir's #1 currently on the shelf, i will purchase some "nu-finish" @ my local mart-mart or dollar store.
