Ok, just got a box of Hornady 300gr JHP/XTP bullets. Up till now, I have reloaded the .44Mag with either W231 or W296 powder. However, none of my manuals list a load for the 300 grain JHP for either of these powders, or even for this bullet weight! Do any of you guys have loads for this combination in your reloading manuals?

Chad. The new Hornady Reloading manual (#5) has the data you are looking for.

use data for H-110 if you've got it. Same stuff, different bottle (really).

The Hodgdon book sez max is 20.0 grains of H110, but only for guns like the Redhawk, et al. I guess the pressures are a bit "noticeable"; I found that the recoil is a bit much for double-taps.

Thanks for the info guys! I guess I need to invest in a few more reloading manuals so I can cover all the bases and double-check load data.
