Acier Bayard 16 ga. SxS

My son-in-law has an Acier Bayard, side x side duble barrel, 16 ga. with hammers and two triggers.
On the rib it has "ACIER BAYARD" and also "Aciens Establissments Piper Herstal". At the breech it has "DEMI-BLOC" across both barrels. Along the side of each barrel it has "POUR POUDRES VIVES". This shotgun has a lot of nice engraving work and nice checkering on the forearm and stock. Tthe gun is in very good condition.
What information can someone give about this gun, including it's value.
Thanks!!

Acier means Steel in France.

Bayard was a Belgian maker, of some but not top quality.

It's almost certainly chambered for the older shells, probably 2 1/2" loads.

With hammers, my guess is it's maybe a $400 gun.

And as with ALL shotguns made before WWII and some after, a trip to Mr Gunsmith before firing the first shot is mandatory.
