45 powder poll
Sorry but it seems that my self and a few other newbies are a little curios about this. So if the poll works vote for your favorite powder.
Also tell us what 45 you shoot, or which ones. Thanks

I voted Titegroup first, Bullseye second. Titegroup seems to burn much cleaner and I like the way it meters -- very consistent. Relatively cheap price per pound, too. If I had only one complain about Titegroup it's that it is very thin and slight static makes it want to cling to the walls of the powder measure hopper so that when I'm done with that session and I want to empty the powder measure, it takes more fussing than with almost every other powder I ever use.
Small price to pay for a powder that seems to work so well for me. I use it mostly with 200r LSWC and I've recently tried it with 200 gr Berry's plated SWC slugs with fine results. If I ever use Unique again for anything, it will be too soon. You should get lots of votes for W231 in this poll, too.

Titegroup. I've also used Unique, and will continue to do so, but I would be fine if all I could ever use was Titegroup.
Ruger P345 w/stainless slide -a great, inexpensive, easy to shoot, reliable and very robust weapon. |

How 'bout Other?
I voted for Unique because it's excellent in .45 Colt. But I think I like HS-7 the best. There are so many good powders to choose from though.....

I load either Clays (for paper punching) or Power Pistol (for full power loads). Since PP wasn't listed I voted Clays.

I have been trying to best WW-231 since I first started using it. I haven't done it yet though other powders give acceptable performance in thier own right. Unique and Bullseye are ok and Power Pistol is showing promise but for now it's still 231. Have Robbie and Brian changed powders yet for 45? I've been using 231 since they came on the scene and said that's what they use. lol.
It was good advice. |

My Ruger KP90 rewarded my perseverance last weekend with almost an 8 rd ragged hole @ 10 yds. I choked. Light load of Bullseye under a Bear Creek 230gr LRN.
My Model of 1950 S&W wheelgun likes Bullseye or Green Dot under a 200gr Berry's plated SWC..

for the 1911
For my 1911s, I use Bullseye. Two different loads - 4.0 grains and a 200 grain LSWC for targets and 5.0 grains and a 230 FMJ or HP for serious social situations.
The 5.0 load duplicates factory ball ammo. I am also fond of 6.0 grains of SR 7625 and a 200 grain lead bullet for general use. Pete

Titegroup for me. It just gives me better results than the others in my P220,EFS and 24/7 pro.
4.7 grs with any 200gr lead bullet is my favorite. |

Unique 7 grains, 230 grain jacketed bullets, Glock 21 1st Edition, Baby Glock 36. Use it in 45 Colt too, 10-10.5 grains in Ruger BlackHawk 7.5" and RedHawk 4".

8 grains of AA5 behind a 200g LSWC is deadly accurate and peppy. Its through a RIA 1911 tac.
