valmet m78 questions
For those that may know or have these rifles, anything to keep in mind about these. I am specifically looking into a 308 version with clubfoot stock in excellent condition. Receiver is definitely milled. Has bipod and 3 magazines. What is a fair price for one, and any problems with these?

I have the Model 76 which of course is in .223 so I don't know if they are anything like each other but mine is a very well made rifle. Functions flawlessly with anything and, as far as I know, has a great reputation for reliability. The magazines are a bit hard to find and when found can be very expensive.
As for price, you might want to look around Gun Broker in the completed auctions to see what they have sold for.

I had one of each (76 and 78) and got rid of them both due to limited availability of magazines. They both functioned flawlessly, however. Sadly, they don't seem to bring the money they should, probably for the very same reason for which I got rid of mine.

interesting, thanks. yes, mags seem to be rare and costly. the gun seems to be top quality. Seems like they go for between 1500-2000 or so
