Golden Rod

I bought a golden rod rust preventer for my safe. Does anyone have one and if so, does it work? Do they last?

I have not personally had one but the talk around the range is that they do seem to work well and keep you from cleaning every so often just to prevent rust.

I bought my safe in '86, and it came with a Golden Rod. It's still working and it works very well, as there has never been any rust on anything in the safe.

They sure seem to work or at least I have not had a problem. I have had mine for about 15 years. Once in awhile you should touch it to make sure it's still doing it's job. I placed mine toward the rear of my safe. They are worth the money. I have noticed that some of my stocks have loosened up a little but not sure if it due to the rod. I also have a humidity indicator in my safe but don't pay all that much attention after all these years.

Be Safe !!!
