Just got 100 new 30-40 cases from Midway and loaded them for fire-forming in my 31-40AI. 174gr Hornady .312 Interlocks and 45gr of H380. After fire-forming will reload them with 50gr of H380. About the same ballistics as a 30-06 with 180gr bullets.
Bear season is here and the un-fire formed load (which is pretty much a factory 30-40 Krag load) is just fine for bruins. Now, if I can find a bear... |

I'm buying bulk pack of 100 rounds of federal for $19.97 at wally world, I will be buying 1000 new rounds, and I also have clean lead to mold over 3500 9mm bullets, so as soon I fire this new rounds I will be busy reloading them.

The 'what are you reloading today?' thread
Quote:
Trimming some old 38-55 brass down to fit my 32-40. "I hate trimming!!" But I'm just to cheap to go out and buy new 32-40 brass. I'll let someone else go out and spur the economy today._ |

This evening ....I'll be reloading about 20 boxes( 500 shells )in a 28ga ( all Remington STS hulls ) ...and about 20 boxes ( 500 shells ) in a .410 ga....( all Rem STS hulls again )...shot up my last inventory of both gagues today.
I'll load both with 9's .../ should take me about an hour for each gague. |

Playing with some 9mm today. Speer 125 gr LRN motivated by some Unique.
Lyman's 49th Edition has things starting an an anemic 4.5 grains, Speer #14 says 5.2 grains to start. Will probably split the difference and see where things land. My Hi Power short stroked on a couple of the rounds. The PF9 seemed kind of weak compared to recoil from factory loads. I'll probably have to go a little hotter for my Norinco Uzi knock off. |

Since it's pouring rain here, tonight I'll be loading up a couple of hundred rounds of .38-40 for great-grandpa's Colt Lightning rifle. 128 years old and shoots like a champ. 35 grains of Sheutzen 3F black powder with a 170 grain bullet cast from wheel weights.
Mmmm...smokey!

New to Reloading - 327 Fed Mag Today
I love my Taurus M327 revolver, and 327 Federal Magnum ammo is pricey. So, I just got in all of my stuff, including Dillon 550B, and I'm doing my first few rounds today. Will test fire tomorrow. I'll come back here and let you know if I learned it all well, including powder measure, at least I will if all of my fingers are still attached.

.38 spcl is the flavor of the morning. Later I will melt down some lead for .36 cal black powder shooting in the new revolver.
