Speedfeed Inc. or Choate stock?
Hey,
I'm looking for a pistol gripped full stock for my 870.The Choate Mark 5 looks good and the stocks Speedfeed Inc. offer seem to be nice also.If anyone can advise further on any of these stocks it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, RJT |

RJT, we seem to be winding down a bit. There are several threads on these stocks if you'll use the search button in the upper right portion of your screen.
I've used Choate products before and think well of them if that helps.

Personally I like the Choate stocks better. In my experience the Choate stocks are easier to grip and stay more tight and flush against the rear of the shotgun. I think the grip on the speed feed stock is big and bulky and just feels weird.
I wish I could find a Choate stock that A Giles Tac Sling would fit.

Well, I guess I'll be the voice of dissention...
I like the Speedfeed. Both are quality stocks, it would probably help you if you could handle an example of each-mounted on a shotgun would be best, but even off the gun will give you some idea of what you are getting into.

Speedfeed are very good quality, but I prefer Choate PG stocks as the grip angle is correct and the stock tends NOT to whack you on the cheekbone.

I have a Speedfeed, but if I were able to choose again I would opt for the Choate. It is adjustable and since the shell holders in the Speedfeed are useless, the Choate has the edge.

What's the "PG" stock? I'm looking at the Choate Mark 5 for my 870. I know I'm bumping an old thread, but thought it was better than starting a new one.

pg = pistol grip
pgo = pistol grip only

I have the speed feed on my 590A1, and I love it. I've been keeping an extra 4 in it with no problems whatsoever, and it does its job beautifully. Speedfeed +1.
