cleaning lead and copper from the bore ?

When using Hoppe's or Shooters Choice, Mpro7 etc. I put a patch on the cleaning rod and dip it in the bottle to soak it up with cleaner and run it through the bore, if I dip the same patch again after running it through the bore am I contaminating the cleaner in the bottle ?

Yes, get a clean patch for the next pass thru the bore. And get some Boretech Eliminator for your copper removal (and it'll remove the carbon fouling too).

I would not. You may want to pick up a plastic bottle with a drip type folding spout.

Get a bottle of Boretech Eliminator. You'll be happier with the results and it comes with a flip up drop spout. You really shouldn't be running the patch through the bore more than once though. Have you ruined the Hoppes. Probably not.

An option I use to prevent contaminating the solvent, and to make it easy to put exactly the amount of solvent I want, right where I want it is to buy some solvent transfer pipettes.

These are plastic bulbs with a long tube spout.
You can buy them from a lab supply house or from Brownell's under the Accur-Bore solvent.

I fill the bulb with solvent, put the patch or brush into the chamber or bore, then give it a squirt of solvent. No waste, no mess, and no contamination.
