Any good places that you recommend I look for some good used equipment? I would like a Dillon 550. I figured you guys would know where to look.

Craigs List in your area, local newspaper, local gunshops that sell reloading equipment, Dillon for factory refurbs, GunBroker and all of the other auction sites, here and other similar forums

Dont overlook Backpage as in Chicagobackpage or Hustonbackpage. It's like craigslist but actually carries guns too. Of course if you live in a rural area they may not have one close by.

Yes, the usual outlets,but do you want a box of stuff with a few parts missing? Not saying that will happen but what do you save over new? If not much I'd rather get nice clean gear with instructions & start out on the right foot with the manufacturer. You may spend a year looking for the right set-up,maybe not.

Watch out for E-bay. I have seen buffoons pay MORE than retail for Dillon reloading stuff. Shipping costs can be DRAMATIC.

It's kind of a tough time to be looking for used reloading presses right now. Last fall I dutifully logged into eBay every day looking for a good deal on a turret or progressive press. I'm not sure what's going on, but I routinely saw used presses selling for more than I could buy the same thing brand new from Midway. Maybe there's a whole lot of people itching to get into reloading but don't know about the online new dealers. Or maybe it's their wives trying to find them a great deal on eBay for a Christmas or birthday present and eBay is all they know about.

It's wild the prices you see out there these days. Once in a very great while you'll see a reasonable deal but they are very hard to come by. I looked at the GunBroker section of reloading also, but no good deals there.

It's not just used stuff. When it comes to the Lee Classic Turret, it's pretty common to see Midway or Natchez or any of the others be out of stock of that one or any of the really popular presses.

Check with friends and co-workers. My first press was free from a friend.
Local gun dealers. I picked up a nice used press for $15.00 at the gun shop.
Ebay, look for presses just listed with low " buy-it-now" price. I picked up a Dillon RL450 for $160.00. It came with upgrades and dies. Bought the 550 frame from Dillon and now have the 550B with all bell and whistles for less than $240.00!
Ebay, look for items listed as wrong part name or broken. Picked up a RCBS Ammomaster for $160.00 that was listed as a "Pro 1000".
Parts were missing and broken. RCBS sent me most parts for free. Got the press up and running for less than $20.00!
Estate sales. I have always missed the good deals at estate sales but I have friends that have done well.
Just be patient and don't buy unless the price is right.
