CZ mags - best dropping option?
I'm still getting some mag hang-ups with my CZ-75B, despite having installed the drop-free mag brake available from the CZ custom shop.
It seems that mags drop free more easily if they have a bit more weight to them. A bone-dry 16rd factory or MecGar mag has a tendency to hang after dropping about 3/4 of an inch. Is there any further tweaking I can do to make my existing mags or to the gun itself to make them drop more easily? Or... is there another magazine on the market perhaps with a heavier base-plate to aid in dropping? |

Dunno man, I just flattened the factory mag brake on my BD when I first got it. Ejection isn't enthusiastic but it will fall out. The MecGar 16rd mags work much better for me than the stock 15 and 10 rounders.

i think i remember reading somewhere that that cz shop in mesa can widen the inside of the magazine well.

Looking at the CZ Custom shop web site, they mention:

Have you tried dropping mags with the grips off of the gun? The reason I ask is because I had some uncle mikes cz grips that would barely touch the mags. This made the mags come out sluggish. I would also try dropping the mags with the slide and grips off just so you can see what's going on. Mark

^^^^^^^^
That I was having a slight problem and loosening the grip screws just a tad did the trick. |

Duh.
Okay, I'll hurry up and finish my custom wood grips I'm making. I should have thought of the insert-portion of the rubber grips, poking through the pistol frame into the mag well. Thanks, guys. |

You CAN sand down the rubber a bit on the inside of the grips, as a further short-term solution.
