Question about CZ75 irons
I noticed something about the CZ75 and the CZ75 compact (The compact being the one I'll eventually own) all have fixed sites which is also stated on their website.
I was curious as to how difficult would it be to replace them, I was thinking of swapping them out for tritium night sights since the Compact would become my SD/HD handgun. I was looking at a set from Trijicon like these http://www.opticsplanet.com/trijicon...ront-cz02.html |

It's not terrible. I used a proper sized punch to drive out the roll pin on the front sight. The new fiber optic front sight requires a notch cut for pin clearance and a little dremel work solved that issue. The rear sight is simply pounded out with a padded vise and brass punch.

Not to difficult, but if you have reservations or lack the tools needed, a good smith can do it for not too much money.

Installing night sights is a little different than installing non-tritium sights -- as the tritium vials CAN be delicate. It IS something you can do yourself, but it is best done with a sight pusher (for the rear, anyway).
For the little bit it will cost you, you might just want to have the sights installed by a local gunsmith -- they can sometimes do it while you wait. |
