Retro AR15
Thought I'd post a few pictures of my new-to-me Colt SP1. I got this + some cash in a trade the other day. I wanted one for a while, but just never ran into the right deal.
This rifle is as close to mint as you are likely to find outside of one that's NIB. It came with the original accessories less the box. 1976 SP1: |

Thats a fine rifle, with the multitude of variations they make AR's in, you'd think they would make retro AR's too.

Very nice. Love the Retro ARs.
While it's not a Colt, Fulton Armory makes a nice Retro AR called the Legacy rifle. Thanks for the pics! |

Looks like my Army rifle (mid '70s). Of course it would do autofire.
I shoot long guns left handed, and got burned by fired casings falling down my right sleeve, so they attached an outboard shell deflector to it. Looked stupid, but it worked. Glad they came up with a built in deflector by the time I got my civilian version! |

I (well, my gunsmith) built up a Vietnam-era upper using an old Colts parts kit and an old pocked up surplus slab side upper. It was beautiful, but I swapped out the triangle hand guards for a magpul hand guard as I have a history of dropping things and I didn't want to break the original guards.
It's a great rifle.
