Mounting a bipod on a marlin model 60?

Can anyone post pictures of mounting a bipod on a model 60?

I looked on YouTube, but not very many people have videos of model 60's ,period

The stock I purchased is $100, and i've never mounted a bipod, let alone tap a rifle stock, so I don't want to mess it up..

can someone give me a idea of what bipod lengths I should get, and what brand bipod? Or just tell me what bipod you have.

If it has a stud for a sling I would replace it with a machine screw type with the nut inlet into the stock. Get a Harris bipod. They come it different lengths so you can use it in the field or off the bench.

You can get a Harris Bipod that fastens right onto a sling swivel mount. So you only need to install the sling swivel mount on the forearm and the bipod fastens onto that sling swivel mount.

Harris bipod. Accept no substitute.

Personally I think the 9-13in. is the right size, but that's just an opinion.

That bipod mounts to a sling swivel stud. If your stock doesn't have those, it's a pretty simple and inexpensive (~$3) matter to install a pair.

Har, shootniron, that was funny.
But then I remembered the AMX we once had.
A pretty Rambler with racing stripes.
A Marlin 60 could be that AMX.
There's some mighty accurate ones out there.
Some of the serious rifle competitors set up .22s, bipods included, like their centerfires, for inexpensive 100 yard practice that closely mimics a 308, 'etc, at 300 yards.

Here is an uncle Mike's sling stud.

They variations and I stock some of them for Mauser sporterizing.

You screw the stud into the fore stock.

Then you can either mount a sling to it, or a bi-pod.

The bi-pod will typically have another stud on it, so you can have both, the sling and the bi pod.

Many sniper rifle have to studs in the fore stock, one for sling and one for bi-pod.

But a bi-pod may cost more than a used Marlin 60, you may want to just use two sticks or two arrows held together with a rubber band(s).

You don't have to make them long, like Al:

So.... how did it fit? Pictures please. Just interested in seeing other rifles. Like you said, not many pics of a model 60 with a pod on the net. Lets make it one more out there.
