Forester sight jig

If anyone has a Long Barrel Extension for the Forester Universal sight mounting fixture they would like to sell, I'd be interested?

I guess you found out the same thing I did. Forester no longer makes the extension for their sight jig.

sight jig

Sirs:
That sight jig, no longer made was used by a fine gunsmith, Charles Shaner, of Barlow Ohio, The problem with it, that Mr. Shaner fixed was that the drill guides would allow the drills too much play. He made new guides and let them come closer to the work so that would'nt happen.
I've never used a guide but to align the holes with squares and levels. Especially with Mauser actions where the rear clip guide may not be perfectly aligned with the front.

extension

I made mine from a 12 inch long of precision flat stock .5 thick by 1.5 wide
I conterbored for a 1/4 SHCS .5 from one end and milled a slot .5 x 2" long on the oppisite end for a trigger. All holes ,slots etc are on the center line of 1.5 wideth.
On the same end as slot drill/tap 1/4x20 hole and add action resting block made same material that is 1.5 x 1.5 square.
