AR-15 gas tube removel?

MY RRA varmiter has a chrome barrel , I want to put a matte black finish on it. How do I remove the handgaurd/gastube to expose the whole barrel?I have the armourers wrench but skeptical on how to use. Any info would be much appreciated!
