Guess most folks use irons... I like irons myself but if it were me I'd probably look into a T1 or similar, thats probably not appropriate to the rifle, but I dunno.

Well, If you really want to do it right, you could get a PK-A.
But there are better options out there. |

My 5.45 AK currently has a red dot on it. For accuracy testing I put a common 3-9x40 on.

Red dot is my preference, although a 1-4x scope is a nice little optic on something like an AK.

Umteen million people around the world use irons. Im getting sick of watching vids of isil running around with real AKs and here I sit in a " free" country and mine has to be neutered. Oh well.

Nothing wrong with the AK irons, its just a forward mounted red dot brings things more in line with other rifles that are red dot capable. A good red dot mounted out front or at least, as far forward as possible, is a thing of beauty. Makes for fast, accurate shooting.
Ive had Ultimak rails with Aimpoints on a couple of AK's since the Ultimaks first showed up, and they are still one of, if not "the" best mounting systems going for the AK's. The Ultimak also allows cowitnessing the irons with the right sights. www.ultimak.com |
