Squeaky gunleather?
Anybody know how to reduce/eliminate the squeak of holster on belt for a new OWB holster (Don Hume)?

Spray it with some Ballistol, that'll help.

Don't use oil, grease, lard, mink oil, bear fat or other liquids on leather unless you intend to have a nice soft leather sock.
I don't know why it would squeak, I haven't seen that in years. Is the squeak coming from the belt and holster rubbing? Try some wax or shoe polish on the offending areas. If the holster is generating the sound by itself, try working some talcum powder into the seams and see if that helps. Galco sells a product called Leather Lotion and that may help but I can't guarantee it. Honestly, I can remember the last time I dealt with a squeaky holster and I know who made it but that was a lot of years ago.

I had a Galco that would squeak all the time. It turned out to be the leather holster against leather belt causing it. I switched to a Wilderness nylon belt and was squeak free.
Good luck.

Apply some talcum powder where they meet.

For belt/holster creaks and squeaks, simply a few drops of candle wax dripped in the belt slots of the holster usually takes care of that. Of course old timers will remember when new duty gear always creaked and groaned.

Mine squeaks where the gun rubs, not the belt. I tried some powder which helps, but still a little noisy.

Squeeky DeSantis........
I recieved my new DeSantis Speed Scabbard yesterday from S & W and naturally had to wear it around the house to see how it felt (it felt great!) and did notice some minor squeeking but thought it would go away with use. Thank's for the question and the answers received.
I was delighted to find the DeSantis fit both my MP compact and My full sized MP 40 caliber pistols. Links to pictures below; http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l5...eedHolster.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l5...ster10-20-.jpg
